| Wakeboarders require a stiffer rope than water skiers. Tighter, stiffer ropes that do not stretch help you load the line for a better cut to the wake and will allow you to get more air, enabling you to pull yourself through flips and spins as well as keep you from face planting. Wakeboard rope lengths range from 65 – 80 feet and can be adjusted in 5’ increments. |

Wakeboard Rope Types |
| |
No Stretch - No-stretch wakeboard ropes are constructed using a material called Spectra. Spectra rope is very strong and has almost no elastic properties. They stretch less than half a percent when under load. Settle for nothing less! If you’re a Wakeboarder you’re using Spectra.
Low Stretch - Low stretch wakeboard ropes are generally constructed of polyethylene or some blend of it. Use this type of rope only in an emergency…… like your bro wrapped your Spectra rope around the prop.
Multi Purpose – Used for water skiing, tubing or towing your friends I/O back to the dock. DO NOT USE THIS ROPE FOR WAKEBOARDING!

WAKEBOARD HANDLES |
| |
Wakeboard handles tend to be more specialized because they offer more features that make free riding, spinning and pulling inverts easier. Wakeboard handles are typically 15-17 inches wide and come in a variety of grips and materials. Many wakeboard handles have neoprene foam floats on them to keep the handle from sinking. Some also offer a second smaller handle grip built into the rope for wrapped maneuvers.
The same rules apply as discussed in the rope section…. Spectra only in your wakeboard handle.
