Harley Clifford’s Winning Run – Pro Wakeboard Tour Stop #1

Here is a great video of Harley Clifford’s winning ride in our backyard, Acworth, GA. The article and video below come via our friends at Transworld Wakeboarding:
Check out Harley Clifford’s Winning Run from the first stop of the 2011 MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour. Clifford threw down two different 900 variations, as well as a front mobe 540 to beat out Steel Lafferty and Phillip Soven and claim his second consecutive victory in Acworth, Georgia.

2011 Pro Wakeboard Tour Kicks Off In Acworth, Georgia This Weekend

The Pro Wakeboard Tour, the largest and most highly regarded professional wakeboarding circuit, starts off its 20th Season this weekend at Dallas Landing Park on Lake Allatoona in Acworth, Georgia, marking its fifth appearance at the venue in the last six years.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Greater Metro Atlanta lake scene, Lake Allatoona is the home lake for us Ambush Boarding Co./ kids.  And…Dallas Landing Park is literally in ABC/ owner, Chuck Morrow’s, backyard.

Yep.  The Pro Wakeboard Tour is coming back to our stomping grounds.

Needless to say, we at are pretty darn hyped about the event.  I mean…not only do we get to show the world’s wakeboarding elite how we do it here in The Dirty, but we also get to revel in the additional exposure being brought to our hometown scene.  Plus…we’re all going to be getting paid to hang out on the lake all day while taking in the best riding in the world…as well as some serious bikini-clad talent along the shores.  Who knows…maybe…we’ll be allowed to desert the event site for a little bit to take part in some of the debauchery going down on the dozens of boats that are expected to be anchored mere feet from where the event is being towed? Good Luck With Your Future Endeavors, Keith Lyman

Longtime Ambush Boarding Co. and Team Rider, Keith Lyman, has officially retired from professional wakeboarding to join the military.

Rumors surrounding this possibility have been circulating for a while now.  These rumors have now been confirmed by the man, himself.  After nearly a decade as a top pro in the sport, Lyman is walking away from one dream in favor of pursing another.  As I understand it, this decision is rooted in Lyman’s desire to accomplish as much as he possibly can in life (rather than Lyman falling out of love with his job as a pro wakeboarder…or anything like that) coupled with a realization that, if there ever was a perfect time for him to join up, it’s now. Wake Compound | Where It Happens

As is typically the case, I was a little late to the party when it came to finding out about Wake Compound, the new subversive “it” site designed specifically for riders.
What drew me to the site initially is’s resident Matthew McConaughey look-alike Jeff Langley’s 1 Hit Wonder. Langley, whom we at affectionately refer to as “Surf Ninja”, has really been coming up as of late…and we’re all hyped to see him involved with something like Wake Compound. The site also features recent 1 Hit Wonders from Tony Carroll, Derek Grasman, and Phil Soven.

Possibly my favorite feature on Wake Compound is Add+Onz, where two riders are paired against each other in a sort of “draw the line” format…where one rider starts off with a trick and the second rider has to repeat that trick and add another one. The first rider to blow it loses. Read More >
